I am an Artist and Taxidermist currently working and living in
I Have been practising Taxidermy for the last 12 years and I have been a practising Installation artist for the past 8 years.
I always put more of my efforts into the fine art side of my work until graduating from the Royal Academy schools' MFA Fine art programme in 2012. This gave me more time to take the plunge and really concentrate on starting my vision of a modern Taxidermy business that could pay my bills and give me the opportunity to work from my home studio where I constantly get to be making something and researching. I have just come out of a year long break from exhibiting after taking the time to come to grips with starting a business.
I fell in love with Taxidermy after spending a lot of my childhood in Cardiff museum and a life long obsession with animals.
I do not see the taxidermy I do as a part of my art practice despite a lot of my mounts falling into non-traditional categories of taxidermy. I always endeavour to keep the two things separate to ensure the animal's character is the main focus and not just a material in an artwork. My art Practice usually takes the form of large scale installations consisting of sound pieces, video, found objects, and sculptural elements. I attempt to reach out of the art world and drags events and problems from other worlds back into the gallery via a research-based practice.
I usually works on two projects simultaneously dealing with weighty issues such as evolution, hierarchical thinking, anthropology, celebrity, scientific debates/advances, and new discoveries including contrasting depictions in all forms of media.
Working with a broad spectrum of experts and enthusiasts I get to take on various roles, including an 18-day expedition to the Sumatran jungle in search of an undiscovered species of ape as a cryptozoologist which was filmed for A french Yeti Documentary, and a slew of public appearances as a “celebrity” in Russia when my Fox went viral as a meme.
I really enjoy Making video, sculpting in all kinds of materials then casting/ molding and constructing my art installations along with the in-depth research and conceptual ideas that inspire it . At the same time I also really enjoy being able to lose myself in the the traditional process of taxidermy whilst using my sculpture background and skills to elevate the work that I do.

I also work on making some plush toys for a monthly market I do with friends and from time to time work with advertising and TV to make props or characters for their Ideas so get in touch as I am always up for new collaborations or creative opportunities.
As a side note..I have been a vegetarian for over 15 years and have huge respect for all species, therefore no animals were killed to produce anything you see on this website.
I get the animals from an array of places. My main sources being friends, roadkill, pest controllers, pet shops, and groundskeepers and I also welcome donations.
I don't even kill spiders.
